The illustration below shows the notes of the C Major
chord. It is a good idea to pick each note one at a time. Start with the
Root note which is the C note for the C chord. Pick the C note then pick
the E and G notes. Try to play all of them and memorize all of the note
positions.Notice how each note fits into the Am pentatonic scale. Notice how each
note is positioned over all of the positions of the Am pentatonic scale. Of course all these notes can be found in
the key of C major and the C major pentatonic scale. Record the C chord and play these notes over this chord. You will
begin to memorize each note and the notes of the C major chord.
Example of playing in the yellow box below.
-----------------------8------------------------
----------------5--8------8--5-----------------
------------5--------------------5--------------
--------5---------------------------5-----------
----7----------------------------------7--------
-8-----------------------------------------8----

 | Compare the illustration below to the one above. Notice the positioning of each note where you can play the
arpeggios. The illustration below shows the notes starting at the 8th fret. This would be a good location to play over
the C major chord and scale. |

Playing in the position above, example.
--------------------------8--10---------8----------------
-----------------------8---------10--8-----8-------------
--------------------9--------------------------9---7------
---------------10-------------------------------------10--
-------7--10-----------------------------------------------
--8--------------------------------------------------------
The illustration below shows all the notes of the key of C major. Compare each illustration and locate all the notes
above. The image above does not have the D F A or B notes. The notes above are only the notes of the C chord. Check out
some C major progressions.
