Guitar Lessons that work!
To be the best guitar player, you will need to play rhythm guitar. You must force yourself to play all types of music. A simple blues shuffle can lead to many new things. Play this blues progression in every key.
Play this progression in the key of A. A(7), D(7) and E(7).
This is the fingering pattern for the E blues scale at the root note position of the open and 12th position. Mess around with this blues scale and I will eventually put down a few riffs to use with this scale. Notice that both fingerings and notes are the same. All notes and scales repeat after 12 frets. The notes circled in red are the Root notes which are the E notes.
This is the fingering pattern for the E pentatonic scale. The Bb note was added to the E minor pentatonic scale to create the E blues scale. Compare the E blues scale above to the E minor pentatonic scale below.
The Am pentaotnic scale at the root note fret has been illustrated below. The notes for the A minor pentatonic scale are: A, C, D, E and G. If we added the Eb note to the penatontic scale, we would now have the A blues scale. The notes for the A blues scale are A, C, D, Eb, E and G.
Compare the Am pentaotnic scale above to the A blues scale below. Notice we have added the Eb note to the pentatonic minor scale.
Good luck,
