G major and guitar scale exercises
The illustrations below will show you how to play the key of G major using the type 3 fingering starting at the VII position of the guitar fretboard. In the first illustration below the suggested fingering is included and is recommended to be followed.
In the last illustration below, the exercise jumps to a different location of the guitar fretboard and the fingering has been included as well. Once you learn this scale exercise, it should be transposed to other keys. By moving all the fingering patterns two frets higher you would be in the key of A major. Lowering all the fingering patterns by two frets would be in the key of F major and so on.
Good luck,
