Once again we are still using the A minor pentatonic scale, but starting at the 12th fret. Notice the fingering pattern above. 1-4 1-4 1-3 1-3 2-4 1-4. The illustration below shows the notes that are played and make up this position. By now you should have the fingering system memorized and know how to move through this position. It will take some time to get use to all the different fingering patterns.

Video for the 12th fret Starting on the E note low E string.
See how this position was used in the blues lead.

You start this position with your 1 finger 12th fret or E note Low E string. Then play the G note with the 4 finger Low E string. The next note is played with the 1 finger on the A note, A string. Look above at all the note positions. Continue through the scale until you become comfortable with this pattern.

Look at this same position, but with the A notes highlighted. You can play over the Am in this position as well. The notes of the Am chord are A C and E. Play each of those notes starting from the A note 12th fret A string. Strum the Am chord in this position, three bottom strings A C and E notes.

You can also play over the C chord in this position. The C chord is made up of the C E and G notes. Play from C to C and when you play lead, use these notes over the C chord.

There's only a few more patterns to cover. The next position of the A minor pentatonic scale will be the 15th position starting at the G note 15th Fret.

Good Luck,
