Root 5 minor |
Minor chords along the A string Look at the image to the right. This is the Dm chord played at the 5th fret. This is called a root 5 minor bar chord. The note is determined by the note of the A string or 5th string. Notice the index finger, it is covering the note at the fifth fret A string. This would be the D note. Notice the other fingers are playing the pattern of the open position A minor chord. You can use this same fingering pattern to play all the minor chords up and down the fret board. By moving this exact fingering pattern to the 2nd fret, we would have the Bm chord. Move your index finger to the 7th fret and use this fingering pattern to now play the Em chord. Move this fingering pattern to the 3rd fret and play the C minor chord and so on. Good luck Guitar Secrets |
